    Thirty-nine years ago today, November 19, 1969, AG Marriage Encounter coordinator and Vietnam veteran Bob Whelan's act of heroism and skill saved the lives of an estimated 200 U.S. soldiers. However, it would be nearly three decades before Whelan would start to experience inner healing from his war experiences — and of all places, at a Marriage Encounter weekend he and his wife were leading!

  • Celebrating 10 years of nonstop prayer

    Ten years of continuous prayer in the Prayer Fortress at King's Castle International Training Center have left a tremendous imprint on the spiritual landscape of the country.

  • Lack of food plagues many around world

    According to the World Health Organization, one-third of the world's population still lacks the basic nutrients needed for good health. November 23 is Assemblies of God World Hunger Day and many churches and individuals mark the occasion by contributing to organizations that help feed the hungry.

  • Autism is on the rise, and it's coming to church

    A remarkable number of families have autistic children -- currently it's the fastest growing developmental disability in the United States, with at least one in every 150 children now being diagnosed as autistic. Although autistic children look like other children, they may display serious behavior problems — to the point of institutionalizing them.
